FAQ’s

Certified consulting arborist assessing a tree
What is an arborist report?

An arborist report is a technical report on an individual tree or group of trees prepared by an arborist that speaks to the current structural and biological condition of the subject tree(s) and in the case of development, how the proposed work will impact the tree(s). A report with multiple trees usually contains a tree inventory and a tree protection plan (called a tree location plan when not related to construction).

What is a tree protection plan?
A tree protection plan is a construction style plan drawing that details protection measures for trees and proposed impacts to trees including removals or injuries based on provided construction plan drawings. These are typically part of an arborist report that is related to construction.
What is a tree inventory?
A tree inventory is a list of trees and their attributes within a geographical area. These are typically displayed in a chart that includes details like the tree species, identification number, health assessment, structural assessment, trunk diameter, height, crown spread, required root protection area and ownership details. Tree inventories can be a stand-alone document but are usually one part of an arborist report.
What type of clients do you work with?

What is an arborist?

What is the study of arboriculture?

Arboriculture is the cultivation, management, and study of individual trees, shrubs, vines, and other perennial woody plants. The science of arboriculture studies how these plants grow and respond to cultural practices and to their environment.
